Let's Go Back to the Bible

Walk. Walk. Walk. Walk. Walk. Run.

If you were going to write a simple children’s storybook to describe your Christian life, what verb of motion would dominate the story (i.e., the verb that is dominating your Christian life)?  For some Christians it would have to be “sit” or “rested” or “stood” or “stopped,” as that characterizes their action as a “Christian.”  What about you?

The only time God gives us permission to be “immovable” is when it comes to standing for truth and the determination to not give up or give in.  Otherwise God uses words of constant motion and action to describe the life of His children—specifically the words “walk” and “run.”  It may be tough for some of us to maintain a constant running motion as a Christian, that’s perhaps why the New Testament uses the word “walk” five times as often as it uses the word “run.”

Are you walking?  Are you running?  Are you constantly on the move for the Lord?  If a storybook was written about you, fill in the verb:  “See him/her ______.”
