There are, perhaps, a number of reasons why people do not understand the Bible, but what would you say is THE reason-the reason above all other reasons, the reason that precipitates other reasons? It should not surprise us that God gives us the answer.
The revelation of God was made known to the apostle Paul, as a steward of the grace of God (Eph. 3:2-3). In other words, God gave Paul the message that he was to write in the Bible. But how can we understand it? Read the next verse in Ephesians 3 and see if anything stands out. “By referring to this, WHEN YOU READ you can understand my insight into the mystery of Christ’ (3:4). What is the first fundamental key necessary to understand the Bible? READ IT! What is THE reason most people do not understand the Bible? They do NOT read it! Either they do not read it all, or they read it through a mind filtered by external or internal influences.
