Let's Go Back to the Bible

Jesus was obligated to be like you!

It could be stated that, when God came to live on this earth, He could have taken on and lived in whatever form He preferred. For example, He could have come and lived as a spirit being and not been subject to human ailments. Or, He could have come and lived with a protective force-field around Him and not let any evils penetrate into His surroundings. However, to make any of these statements would be absolutely false! He could not take on just any form!

Hebrews 2:17-18 makes some intriguing revelations. Think deeply about each of these: (1) Jesus is our “merciful and faithful High Priest”; (2) Jesus came to “make propitiation for the sins of the people”; (3) Jesus “Himself has suffered, being tempted”; (4) Jesus “is able to aid” us when we “are tempted.” We so desperately need all of these to be true, and the ONLY way they could become reality is that Jesus “Had. To. Be. Made. Like. His. Brethren. In. All. Things.”

That thought is just too much! To understand what I’m going through and to help me through it, God had to become just like me! Oh, how horrible for Him! Oh, how wonderful for me!
