Let's Go Back to the Bible

Hear Him and see only Him!

What a scene it must have been when Jesus was “transfigured” before His three closest friends, and “His face shone like the sun, and His clothes became as white as the light” (Matt. 17:2). Peter saw and heard three equals having a conversation on that mountain–Moses, Elijah and Jesus (17:3-4), but the Lord wanted the disciples to know that there is no equal with Christ.

The voice from heaven said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” (17:5). “When the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces,” and “when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only” (17:6-8). They were told to “hear” Jesus alone (and no others). When they looked up, they “saw” Jesus alone (and no others).

In our endeavor to walk with the Lord and serve Him, we must learn to hear Him and Him alone, and stop listening to other “religious” voices. We must learn to see Him and Him alone, and stop looking to other “religious” icons. He alone is the way to heaven!
