Let's Go Back to the Bible

Draw near with confidence!

One of the most exciting and comforting and compelling verses in the Bible is Hebrews 4:16. In verse 14, the writer reminds us that we have “a great High Priest,” who is in heaven. In verse 15, the writer informs us that our High Priest can “sympathize with our weaknesses,” for He lived on this earth as a human Himself. “Therefore,” verse 16 begins, “Let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

What an incredibly powerful verse! With our sympathetic High Priest on the throne in heaven, (1) we can draw near to that throne, (2) we can draw near with confidence, (3) we can draw near with confidence to a throne that is characterized by grace, (4) we are assured of His wonderful mercy and grace to help us when we draw near to His throne!

Question: How often do you approach that throne? Do you go there with confidence?
