Let's Go Back to the Bible

Bearing your heart to God

Bearing your heart to God

Often in the Psalms, David was overcome by the goodness of God and gushed forth (under inspiration) his total thrill for even having an opportunity to know God. These Psalms are fun to read and to apply today. Meditate upon, enjoy and apply these thoughts from Psalm 138.

“I will praise You with my whole heart.” A partial heart is not enough!
“Before the gods I will sing praises to you.” There is no shame in me for God!
“I will worship and praise Your name.” God alone, and no other, is worthy of my praise!
“I will praise You for Your lovingkindness and Your truth.” It’s more than I deserve!
“In the day when I cried out, You answered me.” He never leaves me hanging!
“Though the Lord is on high, Yet He regards the lowly.” He doesn’t forget about me!
“Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me.” He is always there for me!

Dig into the psalms. If you were to pen your own psalm, gushing forth all that God has done for you, all that God means to you and all that you will do for God, what would you say?
