Let's Go Back to the Bible

A Christian’s response

How should a Christian respond when a gunman kills dozens of people in a gay nightclub? How should a Christian respond when a bomb is set off in an abortion clinic? How should a Christian respond when a Muslim mosque is set on fire? Should we have joy? Should we feel a sense of satisfaction? No! We should never “rejoice at wrongdoing” (1 Cor. 13:6)! At the same time, a Christian can never soften or compromise God’s standard (2 John 9-11).

So, how should a Christian respond? A Christian should be appalled at the violent, sinful act of murder. A Christian should be disturbed at the consequences of sin. A Christian should be saddened for the families who are hurting. A Christian should spend much time in prayer. A Christian should weigh all public posts in light of the doctrine and love of Christ. Most of all, a Christian should be horrified that many souls left this earth unprepared. A Christian should be even more determined to share the saving gospel with others. A Christian should be focused on Jesus and helping all people to have an opportunity to spend eternity with Him.
